urbaNation: urbaNation: an urban planning blog.  →
urbanation: With the start of a new year, starts a new project: urbaNation; an urban planning blog. I am a student of Urban and Regional Planning at Cal Poly Pomona. I started this major with little knowledge of the field; I just knew I wanted to do something that benefited the environment. What could be…

onahighnote replied to your post: DAY THREE: Your favorite series i agree with everything you said, but my favorite series is The Dark Tower by Stephen King. if you haven’t read the story of Roland and his ka-tet, i implore you to check it out. Haha both of my brothers and my father have actually read the series, and they’ve done nothing but rave about the entire thing. I’ve always...

DAY THREE: Your favorite series
The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien Just don’t even. I will not apologize. Not now, not ever. Harry Potter and Edward Cullen ain’t got nothing on Frodo Baggins. Even the characters’ names are much better. And how badass is Gandalf? He returns from the dead. Even Dumbledore couldn’t pull off that feat.

DAY ONE: Best book you read last year
I’m just going to assume that, being so close to the end of the year, ‘last year’ is to mean ‘2010’. At least, that’s how I’m going to interpret it. Anyway, to answer the question, the best book I happened to pick up ‘last’ year, without a doubt, was Jonathan Safran Foer’s Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close. Very rarely do I chance upon...

How to be a 20-Something by Ryan O'Connell →
Be really attractive. Your acne is gone, your face has matured without having wrinkles and everything on your body is lifted naturally. Eat bagels seven days a week, binge-drink and do drugs: you’ll still look like a babe. When you turn thirty, it’ll become a different story but that’s, like, not for a really long time. Reestablish a relationship with your parents. You don’t live with them...

Pretending to be a facist feminist during the length of a five page essay that describes the treatment of women in various religious sects in order to appease my religions professor… Or being able to use the word “refudiate” correctly in a college essay and knowing that I’ll be able to get away with it. With all honestly, I rather like refudiate. Repudiate is like, so...

"Walking Dead" Writers Not Fired, Say Producers →
“I don’t know if it’s going to be a freelance situation or if we’re going to have writers in a writers’ room. That’s something that’s being worked on now.” Um, is that still not one of the things we were afraid of? AMC hasn’t done much to quench our fears about the outcome of season two. I can’t quite tell if I am disappointed or...
